I'm also trying
this recipe out in the crockpot overnight. I used a tin of pie apples instead of a fresh apple, and dates instead of raisins. I also added an extra 2 cups of water because the quantities given didn't go very far in my crockpot and I don't want it to boil dry. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
It turned out that the two extra cups of water were exactly the right amount to stop this boiling dry. It stuck to the sides of the crockpot a little but didn't burn. Unfortunately, nobody wanted to eat it! Except the chickens. Oh well...
